Editorial Policy
Adopted: January 2020. Last reviewed: March 2026.
This document sets out the editorial standards and practices that govern all content published by Daily Mail In. It applies to all staff, contributors and freelancers.
Accuracy
We are committed to publishing accurate information. Before publication, all factual claims are verified against primary sources where possible. Where we rely on secondary sources, we identify them clearly. When we make errors, we correct them promptly and transparently, with a note appended to the relevant article.
Independence
Daily Mail In operates independently of political parties, commercial interests and government. Editorial decisions are made solely by the editorial team and are not subject to influence from advertisers, sponsors or any external party. Advertising content is clearly labelled and kept separate from editorial content.
Fairness and Balance
We seek to represent a range of perspectives on contested issues. Where a story involves criticism of an individual or organisation, we give them a reasonable opportunity to respond before publication. We do not misrepresent the views of those we report on.
Sources and Confidentiality
We protect the identity of confidential sources. We do not reveal the identity of a source who has been promised anonymity unless there is an overriding legal obligation to do so. We are transparent about our use of anonymous sources and explain why anonymity has been granted.
Conflicts of Interest
Journalists and contributors are required to declare any personal or financial interest in a story they are covering. Where a conflict exists, the journalist will be removed from the story. We do not accept gifts, hospitality or payments from sources.
Complaints
We take complaints seriously. If you believe we have published inaccurate, unfair or misleading content, please contact us at desk@daily-mail-in.sbs. We will acknowledge your complaint within five working days and aim to resolve it within 28 days.
